Night-time Memories
The night sky was the same as it always had been in sleepy Konoha, even before Naruto had left. The blonde teenager gazed into the night sky, and found his thoughts wandering to a certain raven-haired 'friend' of his, the very one who had practically attempted to kill him 3 years ago. Despite all the things Sasuke had done to Naruto, all the hurtful things he had said, Naruto knew he couldn't give up on him. Sitting in his open window, the adolescent sighed softly to himself as he recalled the face of his old comrade,
"Dammit Sasuke, why'd you have to leave?" he thought bitterly aloud, "Why'd you have to leave this village of people that cared about you just because of your stupid brother."
You left us, all of us. Sakura, Kakashi-senseiand you left me.
Naruto shook his head, as if to shake the thought out of his mind. Sasuke was his friend, only his friendhis closest, first friend. The friend that Naruto was risking his life to bring back. The friend that the blonde couldn't help but obsess over.
All of these feelings confused Naruto; He kept constantly telling himself he was trying to bring Sasuke back because of his promise to Sakura, because it was the right thing to do. But somehow, Naruto was starting to doubt all of those excuses, and start to admit the real reason he was so obsesses with the raven-haired boy's safe return.

The night sky was cold and dark in the cavern in which Sasuke now resided with his new mentor, just like the cavern itself. It had been 3 years now of rigorous training and practice, honing his powers and molding himself into the perfect weapon with which he could finally exact his revenge. But still, there was a nagging thought in the back of his mind, a certain hyperactive, loud, obnoxious thought. Sasuke sighed as he stared out into the night from the small, circular opening in his quarters; It had been some time since their confrontation, and Sasuke had slowly started to feel a bit more guilt every day. He started to regret all the hurtful things he had said, and the things he had done. He sighed thoughtfully as his mind continued to wander,
'No, don't feel sorry for what you did. In fact, you should've finished that idiot when you had the chance,'rang a voice in his head. But at the same time, he was glad he hadn't finished Naruto off. He knew the blonde would purse him to the ends of the Earth, until he was returned to the village, and in a way he was comforted by this. He always knew that dobe would never give up in his quest, and that was one consistency in the new life he led.
Continuing to look at that night sky, he wondered if Naruto was looking at that sky too,
'Maybe he's thinking of you too,'he mused to himself.
'Maybe'
